Let’s talk about seeing the world without my specs!

Not an ode to being partially blind.

When I got my tested specs in the tenth standard, my father asked me what difference I feel after wearing them, and I answered that it’s like seeing something at below 144p and then seeing it in HD. This should be my first blog without a song playing in the background and the first one for which I thought the title before thinking about the content. Now, I can go literal and philosophical with the title. Let’s see how the blog turns out since I have some stuff to talk about.

Yesterday, I saw someone’s story on my Instagram. It said something about the greatness of the UP government with a caption that they don’t post such stuff, but they heard some false news, so they had to. Now, I don’t post about political stuff on my Instagram (because I am anti-social and I don’t want to initiate a convo or a debate) even when the urge to reply to such stories with actual stats is huge. Sometimes, I really feel like unfollowing them, but I cannot judge someone for having an opinion(I still do cause I’m a hypocrite). I can judge and criticize their opinion, but not them for having one. I won’t say that I know much about politics but I am not apolitical too. I do have meaningful political conversations with my sensible friends. I have tried it with my non-sensible friends too, but it’s never meaningful. I mean, one of my friends tried to justify their support for the present government with- “ If not them, then who.” That’s the height of bullshit, I have ever heard in my life. It’s the same thing as when one of my classmates asked me that for how long I would stay single when I sincerely declined their proposal like I won’t get better options than them. Bullshit, right!

Secondly, I wanted to talk about one of my acquaintances who again posted some bullshit on their WhatsApp story.

This is what they posted. Can you believe it? Of course, you can.

Now, tell me this isn’t bullshit. And the person who posted it is a well-educated young woman. I guess sensibility has nothing to do with education. You can have a Ph.D. and still be dumb. You can even have a Ph.D. in being dumb. I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.I.N.G. These are the people who support politicians giving public speeches, questioning the morals of females who wear ripped jeans. According to them, showing skin is inversely proportional to good character, and it only applies to the female gender. I’m at a loss for words. I mean, how high would you have to be to post something like this? They are smoking something very strong. I can rant about many things on this subject like we don’t dress up for men, we are so not “Gifts” for men(that’s clear objectification) and there’s no such thing as “Prince Charming.” I think she’s living in Disney World for stupid people.

There’s no other explanation to it.

These people are seeing this world without their specs. They like this blurred world, away from reality, which sounds very pleasant when you’re on LSD but not otherwise. These are the people I would prefer to see, only without my specs because I can’t handle such bullshit in HD.

I thought of accounting for my recent experience without my specs at a family function but then I’m lazy. So, I guess this is it.
